State water board takes recent action in wake of tremendous state support of water supply improvement and expansion
Huntington Beach, CALIF. – Over the past two days, California Governor Jerry Brown and leaders from both parties in the State Legislature have made clear statements that they support improvement of our state’s water supply and action to increase development of those new sources. Today’s release of the State Water Resources Control Board’s draft Final Desalination Amendment is another step towards critical review of the permitting process in order to provide clarity and inject timeliness into how the state authorizes water supply projects, particularly desalinated water. Making changes to the permitting process will provide crucial support to drought-afflicted California cities.
